Meeting him for that interview was longtime former Capitals teammate, good friend, and now TV color analyst, TJ Oshie. And, Oshie didn\u2019t come empty-handed.<\/p>\n<p>The 2018 Stanley Cup champion brought a Subway sub and a bag of Flamin\u2019 Hot Cheetos, Ovechkin\u2019s now-famous road trip meal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlright, let\u2019s have some fun,\u201d Oshie said. \u201cYou have the Subway and Flamin\u2019 Hot Cheetos routine, superstition, or \u2018stish\u2019, as we call it. How\u2019d that start?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe started on the plane, I think a couple years ago, like, long time ago,\u201d Ovechkin responded. \u201cI don\u2019t know, you know, if it works, it works, so you don\u2019t want to change nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Oshie then pulled out the calorific duo and made sure to let Ovechkin know where he\u2019ll be if he needs a mid-game snack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlright, well, you know I\u2019ve always got your back,\u201d Oshie said. \u201cI\u2019m going to be sitting right over here. If you need it\u2026babe, I got you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The two pals also got serious for a moment, discussing the decision Ovechkin will have to make in the coming months about whether to continue his career with the Capitals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know you said health is going to be a factor in your decision of whether you come back next year,\u201d Oshie said. \u201cAt game 82, how\u2019s the body feeling right now?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFeels good,\u201d Ovechkin replied. \u201cPretty good, obviously. But yeah. Me and you talk about it yesterday, and you know it\u2019s going to be not easy decision. Sometimes you want it, sometimes you not, so we\u2019ll think.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ovechkin played in all 82 games for the Capitals this season for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign.
