The Saudi-backed golf tour recruited some of the PGA\u2019s biggest stars with astronomical guaranteed contracts, starting in 2022. Despite having the likes of Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, and Phil Mickelson, it has not led to a significant following \u2014 at least in comparison to the PGA Tour.<\/p>\n
Brooks Koepka became the first top player to return to the PGA Tour after leaving for LIV, thanks to a one-time Returning Member Program. <\/p>\n
A few top players were eligible for it, but only Koepka took advantage \u2014 though it came with a significant financial hit.<\/p>\n
Patrick Reed is also working his way back to the PGA Tour from LIV as a past champion member, with him eligible to return in August.<\/p>\n

Golf Channel analyst Brandel Chamblee, who is perhaps LIV\u2019s harshest critic, predicted French\u2019s report would come to fruition.<\/p>\n
\u201cGiven that the product was so ill-conceived and ended up being worse than anyone could have imagined,\u201d Chamblee wrote on X in response to the news.<\/p>\n
