It should be another day filled with great tennis and tightly contested matches.

WTA Rouen Day 4 Predictions
Dominika Salkova vs Tatjana Maria

Head-to-head: first meeting

Although Maria is the far higher ranked player of the two, she clearly prefers faster surfaces (especially grass) and on clay it could be argued that Salkova is a clear favorite either. While it should not be a one-sided match either way, Salkova should find a way to prevail here.
Prediction: Salkova in 3

Hailey Baptiste vs Iryna Shymanovich

Head-to-head: Baptiste 1-1 Shymanovich

Although Shymanovich has been having a great run here in Rouen (from qualifying) and has beaten Baptiste in the past, the latter is clearly the better and more consistent player overall and is playing at home here in Rouen. Under normal circumstances, Baptiste should be the one advancing here, even if it almost certainly won’t be an easy match.
Prediction: Baptiste in 2

Elisabetta Cocciaretto vs Veronika Podrez

Head-to-head: first meeting

Based on ranking and clay pedigree, this is the most one-sided match of this round–and reality is very likely to match that. Cocciareto is clearly the superior player of the two, especially on clay, and should be able to advance past an opponent ranked outside the Top 200 here.
Prediction: Cocciaretto in 2

Anna Bondar vs Oleksandra Oliynykova

Head-to-head: Oliynykova 1-0 Bondar

There is very little to separate the two players in terms of ranking (#65 vs #70) and level of play, and their one previous matchup was earlier this year on a hard court, which doesn’t really serve as much of an indication. It should be an extremely close match either way, but on clay Bondar might just have the slighest of edges and level the head-to-head.
Prediction: Bondar in 3

Xinyu Wang vs Sorana Cirstea

Head-to-head: first meeting

Another matchup where there is very little to choose between the two players in terms of ranking and level of play. Cirstea is still showing fantastic longevity, looking primed for another top level season in her announced final one, and might have a good chance of winning a title here. On clay, she might have the slight edge in this matchup and make it through.
Prediction: Cirstea in 3

Main Photo Credit: Danielle Parhizkaran-USA TODAY Sports

[72
9971,9972,137946,137947,66324,66325,23994,193878,255309,255310,197907,210017,16892,16893,99,131320,131321,428,9985,9986,254861,254862,67271,67272
0":"post-586996","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tennis","8":"tag-anna-bondar","9":"tag-anna-bondar-predictions","10":"tag-dominika-salkova","11":"tag-dominika-salkova-predictions","12":"tag-elisabetta-cocciaretto","13":"tag-elisabetta-cocciaretto-predictions","14":"tag-hailey-baptiste","15":"tag-hailey-baptiste-predictions","16":"tag-iryna-shymanovich","17":"tag-iryna-shymanovich-predictions","18":"tag-oleksandra-oliynykova","19":"tag-oleksandra-oliynykova-predictions","20":"tag-sorana-cirstea","21":"tag-sorana-cirstea-predictions","22":"tag-sports","23":"tag-tatjana-maria","24":"tag-tatjana-maria-predictions","25":"tag-tennis","26":"tag-tennis-picks","27":"tag-tennis-predictions","28":"tag-veronika-podrez","29":"tag-veronika-podrez-predictions","30":"tag-xinyu-wang","31":"tag-xinyu-wang-predictions
["GET
