\n\tLate-night hosts mocked JD Vance<\/a> for having a \u201crough week\u201d while being forced to support Donald Trump<\/a>. Yesterday, Vance spoke at a Turning Point USA<\/a> conference, where he attempted to defend Trump\u2019s criticism of Pope Leo XIV and tried to dismiss Trump\u2019s friendship with Jeffrey Epstein<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\n\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> noted that according to polling Vance is the \u201cleast popular vice president in more than two decades.\u201d He quipped, \u201cWeirdly, Americans don\u2019t seem to be responding to JD infectious charisma. Maybe it\u2019s time for a new eyeliner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe host played a clip of Vance speaking at the sparsely-attended Turning Point USA event. \u201cJD Vance may be deeply unpopular, but you wouldn\u2019t know it from the sitting room-only crowd in Athens, Georgia yesterday,\u201d Kimmel noted. \u201cThere were more people in the theater to see the Melania documentary than JD Vance.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel added, \u201cJD Vance has had a rough week. He failed to make a deal to end the war in Iran. He had to defend Trump bashing the pope and the AI Jesus stuff. And now he\u2019s made it his job to try to pretend his boss wasn\u2019t a close friend of the world\u2019s most notorious pedophile.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the Turning Point USA conference, Vance explained that Trump wasn\u2019t actually friends with Epstein. \u201cOh, now it\u2019s clear,\u201d Kimmel said after playing a clip of Vance\u2019s speech. \u201cThey weren\u2019t best friends. They were just extremely horny acquaintances together. By the way, do you think Trump and JD Vance have ever had a conversation about this where JD asked him, \u2018What actually happened with Jeffrey Epstein?\u2019 Not a chance. He\u2019s pulling every bit of this out of his ass.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn The Late Show, Stephen Colbert<\/a> noted that it\u2019s been \u201cJD Vance\u2019s job to get out there to receive a swift kick in the nuts.\u201d He then played a clip of Vance criticizing the pope. Vance said, \u201cIn the same way that it\u2019s important for the vice president of the United States to be careful when I talk about matters of public policy, I think it\u2019s very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWow,\u201d Colbert replied. \u201cHey, hey, JD. I know you\u2019re Catholic. But you joined in 2019. I\u2019ve been genuflecting since the mid-1960s and let me tell you brother, I think you\u2019re out over your Catholic skies here.\u201d He added, \u201cYou know who left the last supper early?
