\n\tFrankie Muniz<\/a> revealed to his \u201cMalcolm in the Middle\u201d dad, Bryan Cranston<\/a>, in a new Esquire video interview that he often wonders how his career would\u2019ve been different had he not dropped out of \u201cHoles<\/a>.\u201d Muniz was attached to play the lead role of Stanley Yelnats in Disney\u2019s 2003 movie before he got the offer to headline \u201cAgent Cody Banks.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was signed to be in the movie \u2018Holes,\u2019 and it was 100% about to start filming, and then \u2018Cody Banks\u2019 was greenlit. They were like, \u2018Which one do you want to do?’\u201d Muniz remembered. \u201cI immediately picked \u2018Agent Cody Banks,\u2019 but I remember everyone pushing me to do \u2018Holes\u2019 because of the story, and it\u2019s a little more dramatic. Shia LaBeouf<\/a> ended up doing it, and it kind of catapulted his movie career.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI wonder what my career or life would\u2019ve been [had I done \u2018Holes\u2019 instead],\u201d Muniz added. \u201cWhat could\u2019ve come with it? Would I have been taken more seriously as an actor?\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou could\u2019ve had Shia LaBeouf\u2019s life,\u201d Cranston chimed in with a sarcastic scoff and a whistle. \u201cKeep that one in. Shia, get some help!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLaBeouf has had a history of erratic behavior and prior legal issues, including a lawsuit filed against him by FKA Twigs alleging sexual battery, assault and infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit\u00a0was settled<\/a>\u00a0in July of last year. Prior to that, LaBeouf was court-ordered to attend rehab following a 2017 arrest in Georgia for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Just last month, LaBeouf was arrested in New Orleans <\/a>after getting into a fight at Mardi Gras. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy behavior\u2026 I gotta deal with that. Does that mean I gotta go to rehab again? I\u2019m just not into it, bro,\u201d LaBeouf said during an interview with Andrew Callaghan\u2019s\u00a0Channel 5<\/a> after his New Orleans arrest. \u201cI don\u2019t think my answers are there. I don\u2019t. I really, genuinely, don\u2019t. If I genuinely did, I\u2019d go. I don\u2019t think I have a drinking problem\u2026 I think I have a different problem, and I\u2019m gonna address it. I think I have a small man complex.\u00a0I think it\u2019s something that has to do with anger and ego more so than my drinking, but that\u2019s where I\u2019m at now on my journey, and I\u2019m trying to navigate it. I\u2019ll figure it out.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
