{"id":588968,"date":"2026-04-17T03:12:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-17T03:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/588968\/"},"modified":"2026-04-17T03:12:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T03:12:07","slug":"sources-napheesa-collier-stays-with-lynx-on-1-4m-supermax-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/588968\/","title":{"rendered":"Sources: Napheesa Collier stays with Lynx on $1.4M supermax deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a data-player-guid=\"3050c42f-4845-9e46-c003-1b0adb4c5e14\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/player\/_\/id\/3917450\/napheesa-collier\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Napheesa Collier<\/a> is signing a one-year, $1.4 million supermax contract to return to the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"d815e23c-aa3e-3490-d7be-f876d1e30e8a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/team\/_\/name\/min\/minnesota-lynx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Minnesota Lynx<\/a>, sources told ESPN.<\/p>\n<p>She is the third player in the WNBA to sign a supermax deal, along with <a data-player-guid=\"65441aab-bd32-abef-f1f9-6a95b381c955\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/player\/_\/id\/3142191\/kelsey-mitchell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kelsey Mitchell<\/a>, who signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/story?_slug_=source-kelsey-mitchell-sign-14m-supermax-deal-fever&amp;id=48450282\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">one-year contract<\/a> with the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"bfef1bdd-c2d1-310d-dd9f-645b90575da9\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/team\/_\/name\/ind\/indiana-fever\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Indiana Fever<\/a>, and <a data-player-guid=\"9d049a87-30bf-a718-0206-b47ef02f57df\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/player\/_\/id\/3149391\/aja-wilson\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">A&#8217;ja Wilson<\/a>, who signed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/story\/_\/id\/48494265\/sources-wilson-staying-aces-3-year-5m-supermax-deal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">historic three-year pact<\/a> with the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"c97eb968-6e82-9785-a302-0bb1a1c1d064\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/team\/_\/name\/lv\/las-vegas-aces\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Las Vegas Aces<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Collier will be an unrestricted free agent &#8212; and, under the new collective bargaining agreement, unable to be &#8220;cored&#8221; &#8212; in 2027. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/story\/_\/id\/48425440\/lynx-collier-liberty-ionescu-stars-receiving-core-offers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">core qualifying offer<\/a> is akin to the NFL&#8217;s franchise tag.<\/p>\n<p>Collier finished second in MVP voting in 2025 for a second straight year after averaging 22.9 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Lynx and becoming the second player in league history to finish a regular season with a 50-40-90 shooting split.<\/p>\n<p>Editor&#8217;s Picks<\/p>\n<p>2 Related<\/p>\n<p>Collier, 29, shot 53.1% from the floor, 40.3% from 3-point range and 90.6% from the free throw line while averaging over 20 points &#8212; the first player to accomplish such a feat.<\/p>\n<p>Collier&#8217;s MVP campaign slowed in August when she missed seven games because of a right ankle injury. She then injured her left ankle in Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals, ending her season.<\/p>\n<p>Despite having the best regular-season record, the Lynx went on to lose that semifinal series against the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"514d18a9-00a8-d52b-dda2-37d707f19bd0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/team\/_\/name\/phx\/phoenix-mercury\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Phoenix Mercury<\/a> in five games.
