Kyle Whittingham and company are expecting a solid group of recruits this weekend, and our own Zach Libby will have more on that in a visitors list later today.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">In the meantime, let\u2019s discuss a couple recruits that visited last weekend in today\u2019s Recruiting Roundup. But first, we get to Michigan\u2019s latest commitment\u2026<\/p>\n<p>QB Kamden Lopati recaps committing to Michigan<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">The Wolverines added a key player to their 2027 class on Tuesday in four-star quarterback <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/kamden-lopati-241681\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kamden Lopati<\/a>, doing so just one day after decommitting from Illinois. The Salt Lake City, Utah native is the No. 9 quarterback and No. 122 overall player in the country, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Lopati has had a strong bond with the new Michigan coaching staff dating back to their days with the Utes, especially quarterbacks coach Koy Detmer Jr. and offensive coordinator Jason Beck. That connection ended up playing a huge role in his decision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI have great relationships with the entire Michigan staff and that was big for me,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/news\/four-star-quarterback-kamden-lopati-flips-commitment-from-illinois-to-michigan\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lopati told Rivals\u2019 Greg Biggins<\/a> ($). \u201cAll of those coaches were recruiting me when they were at Utah and picked things right back up when they got to Michigan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cCoach Detmer and coach Beck are great guys and great coaches and I really think coach Whitt (Kyle Whittingham) will be able to have a lot of success right away at Michigan. He\u2019s a great coach and I\u2019m excited to play for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Lopati may not be a Midwest recruit, but he is still very aware of the Michigan football program and its longstanding traditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cGrowing up, I\u2019ve always liked Michigan and their football tradition,\u201d Lopati said. \u201cWhen they offered, that was big deal for me because it\u2019s a schoolI always followed when I was younger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cThe game day atmosphere there is incredible and the fan base is so passionate. I love the culture of the program and it\u2019s just a special place. The Big House is incredible, the facilities are as good as you\u2019re going to see and it\u2019s just different there. When you combine all that with my relationships with the staff, it really helped put them over the top.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Michigan now has a top-20 recruiting class in 2027 following this commitment.<\/p>\n<p>Top DL target has great visit, claims Michigan as a top choice<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">A top target that was on campus last weekend is 2027 four-star defensive lineman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/xavier-muhammad-240511\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Xavier Muhammad<\/a>. At 6-foot-3 and 265 pounds, the top-100 overall prospect is a versatile player from Houston, Texas that has a chance to play inside and on the edge at the next level.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Muhammad recapped his visit to Ann Arbor with <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/michigan\/board\/102410\/contents\/top100-dl-xavier-muhammad-feels-michigan-offers-the-best-of-both-worlds-after-weekend-trip-281632774\/?page=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Michigan Insider\u2019s Brice Marich<\/a> ($).<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cThe visit was great,\u201d Muhammad said. \u201cHonestly, seeing the stadium in-person really surprised me and the size and the atmosphere were on another level. One of the biggest highlights for me was learning how much they prioritize player development, not just on the field, but academically too. They really emphasize making sure their players graduate and are set up for life after football. That stood out to me and my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Muhammad connected with defensive tackles coach Larry Black, edge coach Lewis Powell and assistant coach David Denham on his trip. They told him how big a priority he is to them and that they see him \u201cplaying everywhere\u201d along the defensive line.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201dI like that a lot because I get to show my versatility and athleticism against the guards and tackles and be a matchup nightmare,\u201d Muhammad said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Muhammad will be back on campus for his official visit the weekend of June 19. But until then, he admitted Michigan is in his top-five as of now. Other schools in the running include Houston, TCU, Miami, Stanford and Arizona State.<\/p>\n<p>Michigan is \u2018definitely up there\u2019 for another top OL target<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">We have another encouraging update regarding a prospect that visited last weekend \u2014 2027 three-star offensive lineman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/rivals\/lincoln-mageo-240230\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lincoln Mageo<\/a>. The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder from Oceanside, California walked away from his weekend trip feeling great about the possibility of going to Michigan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cVisit was great,\u201d Mageo told <a href=\"https:\/\/247sports.com\/college\/michigan\/board\/102410\/contents\/fourstar-ol-lincoln-mageo-blown-away-by-weekend-experience-at-um-locks-in-ov-281627011\/?page=1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TMI\u2019s Marich<\/a> ($). \u201cWatching coach Harding teach technique during Indy period was a highlight because it showed me the teacher side of his coaching style and that he pays attention to detail. Meeting with coach Whitt was great, too, because he was very genuine. He knew about things I did at my school like weightlifting competition and throwing shot put and other stuff. It was very personable and he seems like a great coach and I can see how his staff has been with him for 15 years and longer. The strength staff Coach Elisaia and Coach Salt have been getting everyone stronger than they were a year ago and that was exciting to see. The academic side was really good, too, meeting with coach Claiborne and meeting with Dave Peloquin the GM. He was really down to earth and easy to talk to. The whole staff was great from head coach Whitt to Ms. Skyler to everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Mageo has visited before, but not since the new coaching staff arrived. This visit went much better than his last one by the sounds of it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cI\u2019ve always been interested in Michigan, but this visit was a way better visit than last spring.
