Cher has filed for conservatorship of her troubled son Elijah Blue Allman\u2019s estate following a string of arrests<\/a>, claiming that his \u201cdrug dependency is at its worst.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to court documents exclusively obtained by Page Six, the music icon, 79, filed a petition to appoint a temporary conservator of her 49-year-old son\u2019s estate earlier this week in Los Angeles Superior Court.<\/p>\n

She requested that fiduciary Jason Rubin be in charge of her youngest child\u2019s finances.<\/p>\n

This is the second time Cher has filed for conservatorship of Allman\u2019s estate<\/a>; however, her previous petition requested that she be appointed the sole conservator.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe life of Elijah Allman (\u2018proposed conservatee\u2019) has significantly deteriorated since a prior conservatorship petition was filed in [December] 2023,\u201d the new filing reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe proposed conservatee is currently in custody in the State of New Hampshire in a locked psychiatric hospital in an attempt to restore him to competency to face criminal charges in two cases across two New Hampshire counties for: felony burglary criminal mischief, simple assault, criminal trespass and breach of bail, but that is just the current set of problems.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Cher, Allman \u201chas no concept of money, is unable to manage his financial resources and is unable to withstand fraud or undue influence\u201d because of his \u201csevere mental health and addiction issues.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Grammy winner claimed he \u201cspends any money he gets immediately,\u201d almost exclusively on \u201cdrugs, expensive hotels and limousine transportation.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to allege that her son has failed to \u201cpay any income taxes,\u201d failed to appear in court after his ex-wife, Marieangela King, obtained an order to receive spousal support and \u201chad an $18,000 bill with a drug dealer who tracked him down, resulting in Elijah borrowing money from a friend in order to avoid being harmed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allman also allegedly \u201chas no awareness of consequences for the damage he caused at various Airbnbs where he had been staying; were it not for his friends and family cleaning up the financial and physical messes he made at those residences, he would have even more judgments against him.<\/p>\n

\u201cElijah has no ability to manage money, and any dollar he receives from his father\u2019s trust (his only source of income) is immediately squandered without regard for his liabilities or well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allman \u2014 whose dad is Cher\u2019s late ex-husband, fellow musician Gregg Allman \u2014 receives $120,000 a year via the trust, according to the court documents.<\/p>\n

According to Cher, Allman \u201chas no concept of money\u201d and \u201cis unable to manage his financial resources\u201d because of his \u201csevere mental health and addiction issues.\u201d WireImage<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is a clear pattern in Elijah\u2019s behavior,\u201d Cher alleged. \u201cAfter he receives his trust distribution, he checks into a hotel, usually the Chateau Marmont, buys and does drugs until he runs out of money, ends up in the hospital or overdoses. Based on this pattern, if Elijah were to receive his trust distribution, he will use it buy drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to the singer, Elijah has caused \u201cthousands of dollars in damages from cigarette burns in the rugs, beds, dressers, broken windows [and] walls\u201d and \u201chas been thrown out of a total of 18 hotels because he has made guests feel uncomfortable [by] screaming obscenities and acting erratically.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cher also claimed her son \u201chas been exhibiting hyper-sexual behavior,\u201d even once allegedly cornering a young hotel housekeeper and \u201caggressively\u201d proposing sexual relations.<\/p>\n

Moreover, she alleged he \u201cwas found in the middle of traffic passed out in his car. Emergency services responded and transported him to the hospital, where he was administered Narcan,\u201d an opioid overdose reversal medication.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been multiple occasions in which Elijah caused grease fires while cooking after zoning out and forgetting that food was on the stove,\u201d she continued, adding, \u201cElijah\u2019s situation has become dire on multiple fronts. His mental health has severely deteriorated, his financial situation is terrible and his drug dependency is at its worst.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cher went on to argue that it would also be \u201cappropriate\u201d to seek a conversatoriship of Elijah\u2019s person once he\u2019s back in California, calling him \u201cgravely disabled.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is my opinion that he is currently a danger to himself and unable to manage his life and any funds that would become available to him,\u201d Devon, 53, wrote. \u201cMy recent visit to check in on him brought me unfortunate and profound sadness that took weeks of my life to process. His condition, both physical and mental, was appalling and delusional, respectively.\u201d<\/p>\n

Devon also alleged that he \u201chad to negotiate with a heroin dealer for a five-figure sum of drug debts,\u201d noting that it was \u201cvery difficult to navigate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elijah previously objected to Cher\u2019s 2023 estate conservatorship petition<\/a>, insisting in his January 2024 response, \u201cI am clean and sober from illicit substances for over 90 days now and am fully capable of and committed to managing the money I receive quarterly from the trust left by my late father.\u201d<\/p>\n

The songwriter ended up filing to dismiss her petition<\/a> eight months later.<\/p>\n
