Aliyah Boston<\/a> will reportedly have the richest total salary in WNBA history. The Indiana Fever<\/a> are signing the three-time All-Star center to a four-year, $6.3 million extension, according to multiple<\/a> ESPN reports<\/a> Friday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Boston, 24, will reportedly earn $1 million this season and then the supermax, 20% of the salary cap, through 2029.<\/p>\n

Her extension was made possible by the EPIC provision in the WNBA\u2019s new collective bargaining agreement<\/a>, per ESPN\u2019s Alexa Philippou, who reported<\/a> that, because Boston previously received All-WNBA recognition, she was allowed to replace what she was going to make in 2026 and fast-track a max contract.<\/p>\n

Boston, whom the Fever picked No. 1 overall out of South Carolina in 2023, was eligible to sign for the standard $1.19 milllion max deal this season yet opted to take less money to benefit Indiana\u2019s roster construction, according to ESPN\u2019s Kendra Andrews<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Boston herself confirmed the deal on social media.<\/p>\n

She is coming off the best season of her young W career. Boston became a member of the All-WNBA second team in 2025 while averaging 15 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.<\/p>\n

The former WNBA Rookie of the Year shot north of 50% from the field, just like she did in each of her first two seasons, and played a big role in the Fever returning to the playoffs despite a litany of injuries, including the ones that sidelined superstar guard Caitlin Clark<\/a> for most of the campaign.<\/p>\n

Not only that, but Boston also helped push the eventual league champion Las Vegas Aces<\/a> to five games in a hotly-contested semifinal series.<\/p>\n

Perhaps most notably, the 6-foot-5 frontcourt standout turned in 24 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists in a must-have Game 4 win over the Aces.<\/p>\n

The Fever<\/a> found success in the first year of Stephanie White\u2019s second stint as the franchise\u2019s head coach.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re looking to build on that momentum in 2026, as evidenced by the decisions they\u2019ve made in this truncated offseason.
