The Phoenix Suns<\/a> were hit hard just ahead of their Play-In game against the Golden State Warriors<\/a>. Earlier on Friday, starting center Mark Williams<\/a> and Grayson Allen<\/a> were given “questionable” status for the win-or-go-home clash. Now, just hours before the tip-off, we’ve received a confirmed update on Williams and it’s not good.<\/p>\n

Williams has been ruled out due to left foot soreness, leaving the Suns without their starting center. The status of Allen will be game-time and would probably be taken during shootarounds and warm-ups.<\/p>\n

Williams’ injury to the left foot happened in the second half of Tuesday\u2019s 114-110 loss to the Portland Trailblazers. The same injury has cost Williams almost a month of missed games this season. The Suns are likely to deploy\u00a0Oso Ighodaro<\/a> to replace Williams in the starting lineup. Head coach Jordan Ott will need to find the 12.0 points per game that Williams was giving when he was healthy.<\/p>\n

Suns will be shorthanded if Grayson Allen also doesn’t play<\/p>\n

The situation could only get worse from here if Grayson Allen also doesn’t suit up for the Warriors game. Allen is dealing with a left hamstring injury and he also didn’t play in Tuesday’s game against the OKC Thunder<\/a>. Moreover, prior to that game, against the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>, he subbed out in the first half due to non-contact injury which was later declared left hamstring issue.<\/p>\n

The Warriors guard is averaging a career-high 16.5 points per game. His ability to heat up from the 3-point line can swing the nature of any game.<\/p>\n

The rotation will grow thin if Ott decides not to play Allen in the elimination game tonight. This injuries could make way for more minutes for both Ryan Dunn<\/a> and Rasheer Fleming<\/a> on the floor.<\/p>\n
