The music icon “struck a pose” and was met with raucous applause as she took the stage during Coachella Weekend 2’s headline performance.<\/p>\n
Madonna performed “Vogue” with Carpenter along with what appeared to be an unreleased track. <\/p>\n
“Sabrina, thank you so much for inviting me on your show. What a gas,” Madonna said after the performance.<\/p>\n
“No thanks needed, Madonna,” Carpenter replied.<\/p>\n
Rumors had swirled that Madonna might appear at Carpenter\u2019s set and that the two may release a new song together.<\/p>\n
Earlier this week, Madonna announced her upcoming album, \u201cConfessions On A Dance Floor: Part II\u201d will be released July 3. It\u2019s a long time coming for her fans, as Madonna\u2019s last studio album, \u201cMadam X\u201d was released in 2019.<\/p>\n
Madonna told the crowd she performed at Coachella 20 years ago, the first time she performed the original “Confessions On A Dance Floor” in America. She described the “full circle moment,” right down to the outfit, and said it was “very meaningful for me.”<\/p>\n
“You can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later,” Madonna said. “Twenty years later, in the same boots, with the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket.”<\/p>\n
They chatted more about astrology, and Madonna urged the crowd to connect with each other and to try to get along, before they performed “Like A Prayer.” <\/p>\n
Madonna then descended under the stage and the lights went dark before Carpenter launched into “Espresso.”<\/p>\n
Carpenter, the pop princess of this year\u2019s festival, has hailed Madonna among her favorite artists and has paid homage to her in the past.<\/p>\n
At the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, Carpenter wore a white sparkly Bob Mackie dress that Madonna wore to the 1991 Oscars.<\/p>\n
