In 2025, Hulk Hogan filmed a documentary about his life, which became his last interview \u2014 and it included a final sendoff from President Trump.<\/p>\n
The director of \u201cHulk Hogan: Real American<\/a>,\u201d which premieres on Netflix on April 22, recalled the surreal presidential sit-down.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was clear [Hogan] had a relationship with Trump . . . at one point I was like, \u2018Yeah, we should get Trump.\u2019 And he was like, \u2018Well, let me call him right now.\u2019 And he just dialed him,\u201d Bryan Storkel said.<\/p>\n Hulk Hogan\u2019s history with President Trump dates back to the late \u201980s, when WrestleMania V\u00a0was held at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City. He\u2019s talking to the sitting president of the United States. What crazy world did I get myself into?’\u201d<\/p>\n Storkel traveled to the White House last May to film the interview with the commander in chief, who gave him 20 minutes in between meetings on more pressing matters.<\/p>\n \u201cThe same day, he\u2019s in the other room dealing with Putin. . . . He\u2019s like, \u2018Yeah, I gotta get back to Russia.’\u201d<\/p>\n In the film, the pro wrestling legend, whose real name is Terry Bollea, plays a voicemail Trump left thanking him for speaking at the 2024 Republican National Convention<\/a>, where he famously ripped off his shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance tank top.<\/p>\n \u201cJust seeing his reaction to Trump\u2019s voicemail as he\u2019s listening to it, you can tell he\u2019s proud of it. AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n He had unwavering devotion to his \u201cHulkamaniac\u201d fans, Storkel said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe would spend all day meeting people \u2026 and then he\u2019d get in the car and he\u2019d just be like, \u2018Man, I wish I could have done something for those kids in the back,’\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n \u201cThere was one guy that came up in a wheelchair that wasn\u2019t in great shape. He went over to this guy and just said, \u2018I just knew I was going to meet somebody special today.\u2019 And he started rubbing his back probably for five minutes and talking to him.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe did five days of him in that same house, same outfit, same location. Bryan Storkel, Words + Pictures<\/p>\n Another shocking moment came when Hulk detailed the fentanyl regimen he was on to deal with the back pain he endured after 35 years of wrestling and executing his signature leg drop<\/a> \u2014 two-80 mg in his mouth, two 300-mg patches on his legs, and six 1,500-mg lollipops to eat.<\/p>\n \u201cHe somehow had an abnormal, not human tolerance for pain,\u201d said Storkel, who filmed Hulk for 25 hours. said.<\/p>\n On July 24, 2025, the legend died unexpectedly at 71 from a heart attack. The documentary\u2019s cameras were the only ones allowed at his funeral.<\/p>\n
