She now takes on Iga Swiatek in what should be an intriguing matchup.

Andreeva holds a 2-1 head-to-head lead over Swiatek, but all three previous meetings have come on hard courts. This time, they’ll face off on clay, where Swiatek has built a strong reputation.

The Polish star is looking to build on her impressive start under new coach Francisco Roig. She began her Stuttgart campaign with a commanding win and will be eager to continue that form after splitting from Wim Fissette earlier this year.

Andreeva shares her thoughts ahead of Stuttgart Open meeting with Swiatek

During her post-match press conference, Andreeva spoke about how she plans to approach their first meeting on clay, saying: “Yeah, I don’t know. I will just try to talk with Conchita (Martinez).”

“Obviously, she’s a great player, but I’ll just approach this match as every other match that I’ve had before.

“Obviously she’s had a good history on clay, so I’m just very curious to see how it’s gonna go.

“This is clay indoors, so it’s still a little bit different, but yeah, I’m kind of excited to see how this match will go on a clay court for the first time.”

Mirra Andreeva on how she’s grown since her last win over Iga Swiatek

Andreeva, now 18, won her last match against Swiatek at the Indian Wells Open in 2025.

Reflecting on how she’s changed since then, Andreeva said: “Well, I think Mirra last year was still kind of, you know, not a newcomer, but I think that I was still very excited about everything, you know.”

“At some moments I was still playing in tournaments for the first time and was just kind of still trying to have fun and be excited about how cool it all was.

“I think I just didn’t put as much pressure on myself at some moments. I was just trying to be excited about how great my life is – travelling all around the world. It was great. I was living every day like it was the first day of my life.

“So I guess having that excitement and not putting pressure on myself – just trying to enjoy whatever happens. That’s what brought results. And also being a bit more confident from winning matches. So it’s a combination of those things.”

This week in Stuttgart, Andreeva will aim for her third title of the season after already picking up wins in Adelaide and Linz.

Read more:

Mirra Andreeva moved into the quarterfinals of the Stuttgart Open with a straight-sets win over American Alycia Parks.…

[72
126125,2660,74827,9747,99,257262,258410,428
0":"post-592029","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-tennis","8":"tag-alycia-parks","9":"tag-iga-swiatek","10":"tag-jelena-ostapenko","11":"tag-mirra-andreeva","12":"tag-sports","13":"tag-stuttgart-open","14":"tag-stuttgart-open-meeting","15":"tag-tennis
["GET
