Comedian\u00a0Bill Maher\u00a0blasted former US Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., as a \u201cf\u2013king creep\u201d in a \u201cReal Time\u201d takedown Friday, pointing to previous encounters with the disgraced Democrat<\/a> that raised red flags.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got to say, we had him on a couple of times. Ask my staff, I never liked him,\u201d Maher said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve always thought this guy was a f\u2013king creep. I never liked him and, yet, so many Democrats stood by him, and now that we\u2019re finding out that it was such an open secret.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher highlighted a slew of other \u201copen secrets\u201d involving figures in the past who faced similar allegations, including former film producer Harvey Weinstein, former comedian Bill Cosby, former US Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, and former President Bill Clinton.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear this so many times \u2026 It was an open secret,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat is going on here where it takes so long for the open secret to [come out]?\u201d<\/p>\n

He proceeded to call out Republicans for appearing to claim moral superiority on the issue despite misconduct accusations having been made against lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.<\/p>\n

In the process, Maher cited E. Jean Carroll, who made accusations against President\u00a0Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

Maher\u2019s comments come as Swalwell battles a number of sexual misconduct and harassment allegations from\u00a0five different women<\/a>\u00a0who recently came forward to recount their experiences.<\/p>\n

Following the allegations, Swalwell suspended his\u00a0campaign for California governor\u00a0and resigned from his position in Congress<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While he has denied the allegations of misconduct, he has admitted to making mistakes in the past.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply sorry to my family, staff and constituents for mistakes in judgment I\u2019ve made in my past,\u201d Swalwell said in a statement\u00a0announcing his resignation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will fight the serious, false allegations made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I did make.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating the multiple allegations against Swalwell, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to\u00a0Fox News Digital.<\/p>\n

District attorneys for both Los Angeles and New York have also launched their own respective investigations.<\/p>\n
