Following the all-too-brief teaser trailer earlier this week, filmmaker Takashi Yamazaki has spoken more about his upcoming \u201cGodzilla Minus Zero\u201d movie due out this Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

Speaking with Collider<\/a> in Las Vegas during CinemaCon, the writer\/director confirms the new movie will be on par with \u201cGodzilla Minus One\u201d in terms of runtime. One big difference though is much bigger scale and scope this time around:<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t counted the shots yet, but I can certainly say that there are going to be more cuts that require VFX. But thankfully, Toho gave me more money this time, which means more people that I can bring on to the VFX team.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition, the film\u2019s use of IMAX cameras is being expanded for the sequel with a large portion of the film to be presented in full-frame format and more than you might expect in English:<\/p>\n

\u201cThis being a kaiju film, and with the added branding of \u2018filmed for Imax,\u2019 I would say there is a fairly high percentage of shots that are filmed in full Imax.<\/p>\n

As far as the English dialogue and how much of the film is in Japanese versus English, there are certainly some parts that are in English and some Japanese characters speaking in English, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Set in 1949, the story follows the Shikishima family (Ry\u00fbnosuke Kamiki and Minami Hamabe reprising their roles) as Japan faces another devastating encounter with Godzilla, who returns stronger and gets caught up with the U.S. military at one point.<\/p>\n

He adds that one particular sequence they\u2019ve been working on really excited him: <\/p>\n

\u201c[One part] was probably one of the best kaiju sequences that I\u2019ve ever seen. The fact that I got goosebumps looking at [it] means audiences are going to see something they\u2019ve never seen before.\u201d<\/p>\n
