Ken Jennings reacted to the possibility of contestant Jamie Ding surpassing his \u2018Jeopardy!\u2019 winning streak.
\nJamie Ding, a law student from New Jersey, has won 26 games so far, placing him fifth on the all-time streak leaderboard.
\nJennings demonstrated sportsmanship and humor regarding the prospect of his record being broken.<\/p>\n
If he keeps his Jeopardy!<\/a> winning streak up, then Jamie Ding<\/a> could dethrone the legendary Ken Jennings<\/a> in a couple of months\u2019 time. And Jennings, who now hosts the quiz show, welcomes the challenge from this law student from Lawrenceville, New Jersey.<\/p>\n The Jeopardy! emcee addressed the possibility in an audience Q&A recently, after one audience member asked what he\u2019d do if Ding surpassed his lead.<\/p>\n \u201cIf [Ding] were to, say, hypothetically, win game No. 75? That would be a record that nobody\u2019s beaten for 20-odd years,\u201d Jennings said, as seen in a clip posted to the game show\u2019s X account<\/a>. \u201cI would be very excited, actually.\u201d<\/p>\n Then Jennings turned playful, saying, \u201cAre you imagining me just getting more and more pissed with every game? \u2018If he wins, I\u2019ll eat my hat!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n As Jeopardy! buffs know, Jennings holds the records<\/a> for most consecutive games won \u2014 after coming out on top in 74 straight games in 2004 \u2014 and highest regular-season play winnings \u2014 having taken home $2,520,700.<\/p>\n With 26 games won, Ding is in fifth place on the winning-streak leaderboard, behind Jennings, Amy Schneider<\/a> (40 games), Matt Amodio<\/a> (38 games), and James Holzhauer<\/a> (32 games).
