FIBA via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that taught me a lot about what I can do if I\u2019m not on the court, and I got to be their biggest fan,\u201d she continued. \u201cI think that was a great experience for me because through a lot of my career, everyone else was my biggest fan. That doesn\u2019t mean I wasn\u2019t cheering for my teammates. It was like I was playing the most minutes, I had the ball in my hands and when you\u2019re not doing that you have to find another way to impact the team.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clark\u2019s scoring dropped to 16.5 points per game last season after finishing at 19.4 in her 2024 high-profile Rookie of the Year campaign. <\/p>\n<p>Though her assists jumped from 8.4 to 8.8, and her turnovers dropped from 5.6 to 5.1.<\/p>\n<p>This season, her third in the WNBA, the megastar floor general insists she\u2019s 100 percent back after diligently attacking her rehab to prepare for 2026.<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.45248227;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"39135806\" width=\"857\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/GettyImages-2238163432.jpg\" alt=\"Caitlin Clark was limited to just 13 games last season. \" class=\"wp-image-39135806\"\/>Caitlin Clark was limited to just 13 games last season. Eventually, skill workouts get a little boring, so you just want to play and play and play,\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m the person that doesn\u2019t want to miss a rep, I want to be out there every single time. Like I just love competing and none of that has changed. But I think just being a little smarter with my body and understanding what it takes \u2014 I think especially through camp days \u2014 taking care of my body is probably the most important thing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Clark and the Fever, who just <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/04\/17\/sports\/aliyah-boston-signs-historic-6-3-million-extension-to-stay-with-fever\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">re-signed star center Aliyah Boston<\/a>, are expected to be one of the better teams in the WNBA this season.<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-text-align-right\">\u2014 with AP<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Caitlin Clark had time to experience the game in a different fashion last season.
