Sharon Stone revealed that she’s desperate to play late comedian and actress Phyllis Diller in a biopic.<\/p>\n

While speaking to Business Insider<\/a>, Stone, 67, was asked if she would ever want to play Diller in a movie. \u201cI do want to play Phyllis Diller very, very badly,\u201d the Nobody 2 actress said.<\/p>\n

“I told her I wanted to play her, and she sat down and taught me her laugh,” Stone revealed of a conversation she had with Diller, who died in 2012 at the age of 95. \u201cShe made me practice her laugh!\u201d<\/p>\n

Also during the interview, Sharon gave a glimpse into what their “very close” friendship looked like. \u201cPhyllis made little paintings for all my kids. She cooked me dinner a lot of times \u2014 that woman could cook,” she shared.<\/p>\n

Stone was then asked if she was “actively trying to get a biopic off the ground,\u201d and she told the outlet, \u201cI’m trying.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, she didn’t hit it big until she was 49,\u201d Stone said of Diller. \u201cShe lived in a trailer park with five kids and her schizophrenic husband, and practiced her act on women at the laundromat. It’s unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Stone would play Diller in the hypothetical movie, she also shared thoughts on who else could be part of the cast. \u201cI think there are great actors who could play Bob Hope, Red Buttons, Johnny Carson,\u201d she said. \u201cSam Rockwell could play Johnny in his sleep. We were tight.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stone concluded, \u201cYes, I’m desperate to play her.”<\/p>\n

Diller starred in over 40 films throughout her career, with her acting credits including roles in shows such as the Night Gallery, The Muppet Show, CHiPs, The Love Boat, Cybill and Boston Legal. Additionally, she starred in 11 seasons of The Bold and the Beautiful.<\/p>\n
