Whales wash ashore in Oregon and Washington<\/a><\/p>\n\u201cThat whale came ashore late evening on the 17th, and we examined it on Sunday morning,\u201d said Jessie Huggins with Cascadia Research.<\/p>\n
Officials say the whale was an adult male and 12.3 metes in length.<\/p>\n
Huggins said the whale was malnourished, but not as emaciated as some of the other whales who have washed ashore.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe exact cause of death is uncertain, but observations seem consistent with the overall pattern of mortalities this year, which now stands at 12 for Washington State,\u201d Huggins said.<\/p>\n

Several whales have also washed ashore in Oregon over the last few weeks.
