(KKTV) &#8211; National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is on Saturday, and four locations will be open for the community to safely dispose of unwanted or unused medications.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The Colorado Springs Police Department said it is partnering with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for Drug Takeback Day. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">At the following locations, police said residents can anonymously dispose of medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday with no questions asked. <\/p>\n<p>King Soopers at 7915 Constitution AvenueMemorial Hospital North at 4050 Briargate ParkwayPolice Operations Center at 705 S Nevada AvenueSecurity Public Library at 715 Aspen Drive<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Police said that unused prescription drugs left inside homes are a leading source of accidental poisoning, misuse and addiction. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">They said children, teenagers and vulnerable adults are especially at risk, and keeping the medications around increases the chance that they can be taken improperly, shared or stolen. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cNational Take Back Day provides a safe, convenient way for our community to remove potentially dangerous medications from their homes,\u201d Colorado Springs Police Sergeant Jeffrey Ma said. \u201cThis effort helps reduce the risk of misuse and supports overall public safety.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KKTV.
