{"id":597265,"date":"2026-04-21T08:58:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-21T08:58:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/597265\/"},"modified":"2026-04-21T08:58:25","modified_gmt":"2026-04-21T08:58:25","slug":"visual-performing-arts-summer-classes-offered-for-kids-by-hays-arts-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/597265\/","title":{"rendered":"Visual, performing arts summer classes offered for kids by Hays Arts Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mx-auto w-full sm:w-full md:w-1\/2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1776351949757.jpeg\" alt=\"&lt;br&gt;\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Hays Arts Council<\/p>\n<p>The Hays Arts Council has announced its Summer 2026 class\u00a0offerings, featuring a variety of visual and performing arts opportunities for youth, teens, and the\u00a0broader community. <\/p>\n<p>Registration will open in phases this year.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning April 1, registration is open for free arts and crafts classes offered in partnership\u00a0with the Hays Public Library, with registration available online through the library\u2019s event\u00a0calendar.<\/p>\n<p>Programming includes a variety of hands-on classes for ages 5\u201313, such as jewelry\u00a0making, watercolor, global art exploration and nature-inspired projects, held on Monday\u00a0mornings throughout June and July, along with a recurring Summer Makers Workshop series on\u00a0Friday mornings.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning May 1, registration will open through the Hays Arts Council for theatre, music, and\u00a0collaborative classes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Theatre offerings include a two-week acting workshop with a public\u00a0performance in June for ages 8\u201311 and 11\u201314, as well as storybook-based acting classes in\u00a0July for ages 5\u20138 and 9\u201311.<\/p>\n<p>Music classes will feature guitar in June and ukulele in July for ages\u00a06\u20139 and 10\u201315.<\/p>\n<p>Registration will also open for Sternberg Animal Experience classes, offered in\u00a0collaboration with the Sternberg Museum of Natural History. <\/p>\n<p>Participants may register online, in\u00a0person at the Hadley Center, or by mail.<\/p>\n<p>The Hays Arts Council is currently operating in temporary spaces during a year of renovation\u00a0and transition, but remains committed to providing accessible arts programming.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cWe appreciate\u00a0the community\u2019s patience and continued support,\u201d said Chandler Reich, executive director.\u00a0\u201cWe\u2019re excited to offer another season of creative opportunities for all ages, and we&#8217;re grateful for our partnership with the Hays Public Library.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As the Hays Arts Council prepares to reopen new and improved art education facilities in 2027,\u00a0we are piloting adult class offerings. <\/p>\n<p>Details are still being developed in partnership with area\u00a0artists for classes in watercolor and acrylic painting.
