Madonna<\/a> might have endeared herself to a new generation of fans with a surprise performance<\/a> alongside Sabrina Carpenter <\/a>at Coachella last week, but her appearance at the California music festival appears to have ended on a bum note.<\/p>\n

On Monday afternoon, the pop icon announced that several vintage pieces<\/a> from her Coachella wardrobe \u2015 including a lavender corset and dress as well as a Gucci jacket in deep purple \u2015 \u201cwent missing<\/a>\u201d\u00a0following her performance.<\/p>\n

\u201cStill flying high since Friday night at Coachella!\u201d she wrote in a statement<\/a> posted to her Instagram stories. \u201cThank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible. Bringing Confessions II back to where it began was such a thrill!\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to note:\u00a0\u201cThis full circle moment hit different until I discovered that the vintage pieces that I wore went missing \u2014 my costume that was pulled from my personal archives \u2014 jacket, corset, dress and all other garments.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madonna originally wore<\/a> many of the pieces during her Coachella performance<\/a> 20 years ago,\u00a0following the release of her seminal 2005 album, \u201cConfessions on a Dance Floor,\u201d\u00a0the previous fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese aren\u2019t just clothes, they are part of my history. Other archival items from the same era went missing as well,\u201d she wrote on Instagram.\u00a0She urged anyone with knowledge about the missing costumes to reach out to her team at infomaverick2026@gmail.com and said she is offering a reward for their safe return.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for the Indio Police Department confirmed to TMZ<\/a> that a police report had been filed Saturday.\u00a0According to the report,\u00a0Madonna\u2019s clothes and jewelry had been stored in two bags, which\u00a0\u201cmay have fallen off a golf cart operated by staff who were on their way to load the bags onto a bus. Upon arriving at the hotel shortly thereafter, the staff realized the bags were missing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though some online sleuths have suggested\u00a0a zealous fan<\/a> or even a fellow<\/a>pop star<\/a> may be to blame for the Material Girl\u2019s lost materials, the spokesperson shrugged off<\/a> the implication, noting there was\u00a0\u201cno evidence to suggest the bags were intentionally stolen.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it had been rumored<\/a> for weeks, Madonna\u2019s Coachella performance was not publicly announced before Carpenter\u2019s headlining set on Friday.\u00a0The two stars duetted on Madonna\u2019s classic songs \u201cVogue\u201d and \u201cLike a Prayer,\u201d\u00a0and debuted verses from what appeared to be a new collaboration.<\/p>\n

Last week, Madonna also unveiled a teaser<\/a>\u00a0for \u201cConfessions on a Dance Floor II,\u201d\u00a0her first studio album in seven years. Due out July 3, the album is co-produced with her longtime collaborator, Stuart Price<\/a>, and is billed as a sequel to \u201cConfessions on a Dance Floor,\u201d which featured the hit songs \u201cHung Up\u201d and \u201cSorry.\u201d<\/p>\n
