Marie Osmond is remembering her late brother Alan Osmond with a touching Instagram message \u2014 though she admitted it\u2019s \u201csomething [not] easily done.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAs his only sister, I know I had a different relationship with him than he had with his brothers, and I must say I loved that!\ud83d\ude04 He was always very protective of me (not so sure I love that one)\ud83d\ude02 but he was always there if I needed him!\u201d the singer, 66, captioned several throwback photos<\/a> of Alan and of their family through the years.<\/p>\n Marie went on to gush about his many \u201cincredible\u201d talents \u2014 such as \u201csinging to performing to playing multiple instruments\u201d \u2014 and remembered his accolades \u2014 such as writing \u201chit records and albums,\u201d producing TV shows, \u201clarge events and music videos,\u201d including for her song \u201cNo Stopping Your Heart.\u201d<\/p>\n She also recalled the sweet moment Alan thanked her for letting him get on stage and perform \u201cone last time\u201d with the original Osmond Brothers \u2014 Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay \u2014 during a surprise 2018 reunion in Hawaii.<\/p>\n Marie Osmond (pictured here with Alan Osmond in the 1970s) has reacted to her oldest brother\u2019s death. marieosmond\/instagram<\/p>\n Marie\u2019s tribute came after Alan (pictured here with his sister in 2022) died on April 20 at the age of 76. marieosmond\/instagram<\/p>\n \u201cThe determination he manifested to stand up out of his wheelchair and be next to his brothers was simply unbelievable!!!\u201d she continued, referring to his battle with multiple sclerosis.<\/p>\n In her touching tribute, she recalled Alan becoming the family leader at 12, admitting it must have been \u201cdaunting [\u2026] to have that immense responsibility, to lead at such a young age.\u201d However, \u201che never complained,\u201d as she remembered him telling him it was a \u201cmission \u2026 a long one.\u201d <\/p>\n Following his death on Monday, Marie said she felt her mother\u2019s presence \u201ccome over\u201d her, and she told her, \u201cHoney, do you remember how excited you were for the birth of your child? Well, that\u2019s how excited I am for the rebirth of my child (Alan) here.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cWhat a joyous reunion and rebirth that took place on the other side. I know he\u2019s happy.
