The singer and television personality shared a social media post<\/a> following Alan\u2019s death, opening with the emotional weight of trying to capture a lifetime of memories.<\/p>\n “Writing about your sibling’s passing is not something easily done. The years and years of memories I have of my big brother Alan could never be written in a few words\u2014it would take volumes\u2014but I shall try,” she began.<\/p>\n ALAN OSMOND, ELDEST MEMBER OF THE OSMOND BROTHERS, DEAD AT 76<\/a><\/p>\n Marie Osmond, pictured here in 1975, paid tribute to her brother Alan, pictured here in 1973, after his death. (ABC Photo Archives\/Disney General Entertainment Content; Michael Putland)<\/p>\n Her heartfelt tribute was accompanied by several photos of Alan and the Osmond family.<\/p>\n “As his only sister, I know I had a different relationship with him than he had with his brothers, and I must say I loved that! He was always very protective of me (not so sure I love that one) but he was always there if I needed him!”<\/p>\n Marie\u2019s tribute highlighted not only Alan\u2019s role as a brother but also his immense influence on the family\u2019s musical legacy.<\/p>\n “Alan had so many incredible talents, from singing to performing to playing multiple instruments. (Michael Putland\/Getty Images)<\/p>\n She also recalled a particularly meaningful moment when she reunited the original Osmond Brothers for one final performance.<\/p>\n “So when I decided to honor the original four Osmond Brothers and fly them [to] Hawaii<\/a> to perform together one last time, Alan tearfully said, \u2018So you’re producing me now.\u2019 He hugged me and said, \u2018Thank you, I get to be on stage one last time with my brothers\u2019. He told me many times, \u2018It felt like a mission\u2026 a long one, but I loved doing it\u2019. And he did it for us and for all of you! But what I admired the most about my brother is his devotion and love for God and family! Those were his priorities\u2026 Always!”<\/p>\n Her message also touched on faith<\/a> and what she described as spiritual reassurance following his passing.<\/p>\n “In a quiet moment, I had the most unique feeling come over me. I felt my Mom. It was like she said to my heart, \u2018Honey, do you remember how excited you were for the birth of your child? Well, that’s how excited I am for the rebirth of my child here.\u2019 What a joyous reunion and rebirth that took place on the other side. I know he’s happy.”<\/p>\n She concluded by sharing the final words her brother said to her.<\/p>\n DONNY OSMOND LOOKS BACK AT HIS ‘LONELY’ TEEN IDOL YEARS: ‘THIS BUSINESS CAN EAT YOU UP’<\/a><\/p>\n “The last thing he said to me was, \u2018I can\u2019t wait to see brother Wayne<\/a>, so we can be missionary companions together and start preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who never had the opportunity to hear his message of peace and hope in this life.\u2019 That\u2019s my brother Alan!! Even back then, you can see that he had his arm around me, watching over me. That\u2019s who he was. My protector. My guide.
