\n\tAs the Owens women return for Practical Magic<\/a> 2, it appears the family curse still hasn\u2019t been broken.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile promoting the sequel to the 1998 romantic fantasy film, Sandra Bullock<\/a> recently teased why her character Sally Owens\u2019 love interest, Investigator Gary Hallet (Aidan Quinn<\/a>) doesn\u2019t return for the upcoming followup, which premieres in theaters this September.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAnd if you know the original film, you can probably guess why,\u201d said Bullock<\/a> as she appeared at CinemaCon<\/a> with onscreen sister Nicole Kidman.<\/p>\n

\n\tBased on the 1995 novel by Alice Hoffman, Practical Magic follows the witchy women of the Owens\u2019 family, whose heartbroken ancestor cursed their bloodline so that any man who falls in love with an Owens woman dies a tragic death.<\/p>\n

\n\tAlthough Sally\u2019s father and her first husband both fell victim to the curse, the 1998 movie seemed to end with Sally and Gary having a happy ever after. The sequel dives further into the curse as a new generation of Owens women discovers the secret of their family history.<\/p>\n

\n\tQuinn also recently confirmed he won\u2019t be in the Susanne Bier-directed sequel. \u201cNo, I wasn\u2019t asked; I would have said yes, but I wasn\u2019t asked. Of course I would,\u201d he told Dublin\u2019s Spin 1038<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe actor said he had a \u201clovely, lovely\u201d time working on the original with Bullock and Kidman, who played Gillian Owens. \u201cThey were both great to work with. You know, most of my stuff was with Sandy, but they were both phenomenal to work with. We had a good time,\u201d raved Quinn.<\/p>\n

\n\tBullock and Kidman return for Practical Magic 2<\/a>, reuniting with Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest as aunts, Frances and Bridget Owens, with Joey King and Maisie Owens playing Sally\u2019s daughters Kylie and Antonia. Lee Pace also joins the cast of the sequel.<\/p>\n
