I love coaching<\/a>,\u201d McDermott said. \u201cLove it.<\/p>\n\u201cI think [I miss] just being a part of something bigger, being a part of a team,\u201d McDermott added. \u201cI\u2019ve been \u2014 we all have been \u2014 parts of teams since we were this tall, and you get a chance to do that for a job. And then now, you\u2019re in a year where, for myself, it\u2019s a year off, right? But it\u2019s also a year of opportunity, in a lot of ways, to grow and lean in on my family, as we already talked about. But I think more than anything, it\u2019s just being a part of a team.\u201d<\/p>\n
McDermott went on to joke that his family might already be getting a little tired of him around the house.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd then what happens with that \u2026 is the calendar year and the schedule that comes from that,\u201d McDermott said. \u201cBeing around that for 20-plus years, you get so accustomed to it \u2014 hey, this is a time of year I should be doing this. And the family does as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, I think they\u2019re ready to [say], \u2018Hey dad, stop leaning in and back off a little bit,\u2019 maybe,\u201d McDermott continued with a chuckle. \u201cBut that\u2019s natural.\u201d<\/p>\n
As for 2026, McDermott noted he has some irons in the fire for a potential media job.<\/p>\n
\u201cLooking into that,\u201d McDermott said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got some suitors and kind of trying to schedule it all out and see where it goes.\u201d<\/p>\n
