Zach Top\u2019s rhythm guitarist and harmony singer Cheyenne Dalton Meyer has been let go from his backing band. It also appears that Zach Top\u2019s bass player and Cheyenne\u2019s husband Jimmy Meyer is also no longer with the band, though this has yet to be publicly confirmed. Cheyenne let her followers know of the departure on social media Wednesday night (4-22) as Zach Top gets ready to commence his 2026 tour<\/a> in Lubbock, TX on April 24th. <\/p>\n \u201cA little over a month ago, I was let go from my position with ZT,\u201d Dalton said in a statement<\/a>. \u201cWhile this was unexpected, I want to thank all of you for following along with me on all of my adventures. I\u2019ll miss all of the fun, playing great music, and meeting every one of you. I couldn\u2019t have done this without all of your kindness and encouragement. You all built up my confidence, and I have transformed into who I am today because of you!\u201d <\/p>\n Cheyenne Dalton met Zach Top when they were growing up, and they played on the bluegrass circuit together. Dalton actually started in Zach\u2019s entourage as the merch girl, and then replaced her sister-in-law in the band when the sister-in-law stepped away.<\/p>\n When Dalton joined Zach Top\u2019s band, she didn\u2019t know how to play guitar. She was a fiddle\/mandolin player. In a month\u2019s time, she had to learn guitar and a 90-minute set to join the band. Early on, Cheyenne would also play fiddle and mandolin, and was the band\u2019s utility player. But more recently, she\u2019s focused mostly on acoustic guitar and harmony vocals. <\/p>\n Cheyenne\u2019s role was important in Zach Top\u2019s band because Zach Top plays his own lead Telecaster guitar, leaving a need for a rhythm guitar. Dalton would also regularly sing a song during a Zach Top headliner set such as \u201cSuds In The Bucket\u201d by Sara Evans. <\/p>\n Similar to Cheyenne Dalton, bass player Jimmy Meyer also grew up playing with Zach Top on the bluegrass circuit, and helped comprise the nucleus of Zach Top\u2019s band that saw Top rise to become one of the most popular artists in country music, and now a Grammy winner for his most recent album, Ain\u2019t In It For My Health. Zach Top\u2019s more recent fiddle\/keys player David Meyer is also part of the Meyer family. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m back home in Missouri now, and although I\u2019m not sure what comes next, I\u2019ll still be here posting my daily life,\u201d Cheyenne says. \u201cIf you choose to stay around, I thank you!
