OKLAHOMA CITY (KOKH) \u2014 The Oklahoma City Thunder is headed to Phoenix with a lead against the Suns, but many fans are worried that they may be short-handed for the near future. <\/p>\n
The Oklahoma City Thunder won Game 2 of their opening round series over the Phoenix Suns, 120-107. <\/p>\n
Unfortunately, the Thunder also sustained a loss as Jalen Williams exited the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury.<\/p>\n
“I know there’ll be a Dub question, so he aggravated his, we think he aggravated his left hamstring. We’ll take a look at him here over the next couple days, and we’ll update you guys appropriately. Well, any assumption about time missed is hypothetical at this point, so I’m not going to comment on that, but I thought he was playing great, obviously. He was on the gas. He had great force. Got really good shots. Got good shots for his teammates, especially early. So, yeah, I mean, he was playing an outstanding game and was really good in Game 1 as well. He’s joking around. I dapped him up real quick right before I saw the team. But other than that, I didn’t talk to him. I’ll see him in the morning,” said Oklahoma City Thunder Head Coach Mark Daigneault.<\/p>\n
Following the Game 1 blowout, Oklahoma City knew they would get Phoenix’s best shot here in Game 2, and the Suns absolutely delivered a gritty performance that tested the Thunder all the way through the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n
“Yeah, we just, like, strung stops together. Getting out, running…The way they play basketball, it’s going to be hard to put them to sleep. They play hard, they play together, they play the right way. Even if the shots aren’t falling for them, they’re going to stay in the game. They rebound, they give themselves chances, extra possessions, they turn you over, they’re handsy. They do the right things out there. I think we just stuck with the game and just tried to do the right things on the other end of the floor, and it was working for us,” said Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. <\/p>\n
The Thunder now lead this series 2-0. <\/p>\n
