He was 67. <\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched to his home early Wednesday following a \u201creport of a deceased individual,\u201d the Lake Havasu Police Department said in a release to NBC News. <\/p>\n
Upon arriving at the scene around 2 a.m., officers \u201clocated a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,\u201d the release stated.<\/p>\n
His death remains under investigation.<\/p>\n
The California native appeared on the hit reality series \u201cStorage Wars\u201d since it debuted in 2010, dubbing himself \u201cthe gambler<\/a>\u201d for his ventures into risky auction bids. <\/p>\n The A&E series features teams of bidders who search for abandoned and repossessed storage units that could potentially contain valuable items. <\/p>\n Though Sheets was once known for pursuing the \u201cbig hit\u201d \u2014 accumulating four Picasso pieces in his throughout his years in storage auctions \u2014 his A&E biography notes that he eventually moved away from collecting, finding greater pride in the adventure itself.<\/p>\n Sheets appeared in 163 episodes, according to IMDb.<\/a><\/p>\n Brandi Passante, a co-star of Sheets on \u201cStorage Wars,\u201d posted throwback photos of him in remembrance on Wednesday, along with a heartfelt message about suicide awareness.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m at a loss for words. I\u2019ve known Darrell Sheets for many years. I\u2019m just so very sorry to hear the circumstances of his passing. My heart hurts for Brandon, Zoe, and Kimber. I unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations,\u201d Passante wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cI would like to say to everyone: if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless or like no one cares, I assure you they do. You are not alone,” she wrote. “Please reach out for help. You are not taking your pain away; you are transferring it to someone else. The grief from suicide is endless. There is always help.
