Koepka and Lowry will join forces at the Zurich Classic<\/a> this week after Rory McIlroy<\/a> made it clear to his best friend that he would not be playing the event this year.<\/p>\n And both players will be hopeful of a much-needed victory in New Orleans.<\/p>\n Brooks Koepka noticed something weird about the Zurich Classic golf course<\/p>\n The American and the Irishman addressed the media in New Orleans on Wednesday.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n When praising Lowry for his short game, Koepka admitted to reporters that something about TPC Louisiana at Avondale has already shocked him and his partner.<\/p>\n \u201cAround the greens he\u2019s always had good hands,\u201c the American said.<\/p>\n Photo by Julio Aguilar\/Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I think around this place you need good hands, because you can get some of the green lies that are quite difficult.<\/p>\n \u201cHonestly, we were kind of shocked at how firm the greens were at the end of today.<\/p>\n \u201cFelt like they softened up the more we played today, which was quite weird.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s a solid player all around. It\u2019s perfect for this event.\u201c<\/p>\n Brooks Koepka\u2019s opinion of Shane Lowry as a golfer<\/p>\n Koepka responded when asked by one reporter how he believes Lowry\u2019s game will complement his this week at the Zurich Classic.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, I think the way Shane drives the ball is really impressive,\u201c Koepka said.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the way he\u2019s able to shape it both ways.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the game has gotten so much of a bomb it and just hit it far, where I can see what he\u2019s doing.<\/p>\n \u201cI hear him talk on the tee, certain shapes here and there, where he likes to cut it a little bit, draw it on this hole.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s interesting the way they do it, but he\u2019s a fantastic driver of the ball. His iron play is really, really solid, very consistent.
