He played linebacker in the league in the 1990s and began his run as an NFL assistant coach in the 2000s.<\/p>\n<p>Merritt was on Jets, Giants and Cardinals staffs before he joined Andy Reid in Kansas City in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Merritt has won five Super Bowls in his coaching career.<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs are\u00a0slated to pick two times during the first round of the NFL draft \u2014 holding selections Nos. 9 and 29 thanks to <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/03\/04\/sports\/kansas-city-chiefs-trade-trent-mcduffie-to-los-angeles-rams\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">an offseason
