(WLOX) \u2014 The Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) will accept unused prescriptions on Saturday, April 25, as part of its annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dea.gov\/takebackday\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.dea.gov\/takebackday\">Drug Take Back Day.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Kevin Manning, special agent with the DEA, said the agency holds two events each year, one in the fall and one in the spring.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe will collect unwanted, unused, or expired prescription medications,\u201d Manning said. \u201cThere are no questions asked. You bring it to one of the sites, we will take care of the disposal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Manning said the initiative aims to remove medicines to prevent accidental drug overdoses, poisonings, or contributing to addictions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe don\u2019t want those ending up on the street,\u201d Manning said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He said eliminating access to unused prescriptions can reduce the chances of addiction developing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cPeople will talk about that they began their addiction with prescription medication, then it blossomed into heroin or fentanyl, and that\u2019s what we try to avoid,\u201d Manning said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The DEA will accept most prescription medications, but cannot take needles or certain types of liquids.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Below is a list of collection sites.
