Paige Shiver, whose alleged inappropriate relationship with Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore led to his firing in December, said Moore \u201chad complete control over me\u201d during an interview with Good Morning America that is set to air Friday.<\/p>\n
Shiver, who was Moore\u2019s executive assistant, is speaking publicly for the first time since the coach allegedly confronted Shiver at her apartment after he was fired for cause on Dec. 10, 2025. He was sentenced to 18 months of probation after he faced a felony charge of third-degree home invasion and two misdemeanors related to an incident.<\/p>\n
The confrontation occurred after Shiver disclosed the nature of their relationship to the school, according to police. It was \u201cthe most terrifying day of my life,\u201d Shiver said in a statement released by her lawyers when Moore was sentenced on April 14.<\/p>\n
\u201cHere\u2019s a man that had complete control over me,\u201d Shiver said in her GMA interview. \u201cOver my emotions, over my career. He knew that, and he used it against me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Prosecutors originally alleged that Moore sent Shiver several unwanted communications after she attempted to cease contact with him and told the university about their relationship. After arriving at her apartment, police said he threatened self-harm.<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery time I tried to pull away, every time I tried to try and get out of even Michigan, he always had a story,\u201d Shiver said in her GMA interview. \u201cAlways had a way to pull me in and making me feel that I couldn\u2019t leave him because he was so miserable without me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moore avoided jail time after a no-contest plea for the two misdemeanors (malicious use of a telecommunications device and trespassing) that prosecutors charged him with. In the statement released through her attorneys, Shiver said the sentence did \u201cnot reflect the harm done to me or the objective evidence in this case.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe criminal acts (Moore) committed were extremely frightening and violent,\u201d Shiver said via the statement. \u201cHe broke into my apartment, crying, yelling, enraged, and came at me with knives. I was threatened, and I feared for my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moore\u2019s sentencing was deferred, which means the charges will be dropped if he completes his probation.
