\n\tElizabeth Banks<\/a> is set to star in a new comedy series at Apple TV<\/a> that hails from writers Liz Heldens<\/a> and Matt Ward. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe logline for the untitled series states, \u201cFresh off a messy divorce, Heidi (Banks) sets out to secure a lively second act for herself and her kids. But when she stumbles into coordinating her father\u2019s retirement community sex dates, Heidi is forced into an unlikely alliance with his girlfriend\u2019s perpetually single son.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tHeldens and Ward serve as writers, executive producers, and showrunners on the series. Banks executive produces along with Max Handelman and Krissy Wall via Brownstone Productions. Jonathan Krisel will direct the pilot and executive produce. Quinn Haberman executive produces alongside Heldens for Selfish Mermaid, while Jason Winer and Jon Radler will executive produce for Small Dog Picture Company. 20th Television, where Heldens is under an overall deal, is the studio. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe series will shoot in Los Angeles later this year. <\/p>\n

\n\tBanks can currently be seen in the Peacock series \u201cThe Miniature Wife\u201d alongside Matthew Macfadyen. She also recently starred in the Amazon series \u201cThe Better Sister\u201d with Jessica Biel. Her other TV credits include \u201cMrs. America,\u201d \u201c30 Rock,\u201d and \u201cScrubs.\u201d In film, Banks is known for starring in the \u201cHunger Games\u201d and \u201cLEGO Movie\u201d franchises as well as the \u201cPitch Perfect\u201d films. Banks has also been very active as both a producer and director in recent years. She produced all the \u201cPitch Perfect\u201d films and directed the second of the three. Most recently, she directed the hit horror comedy \u201cCocaine Bear.\u201d She has also produced projects like the comedy series \u201cShrill\u201d and the comedy feature \u201cBottoms.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe is repped by UTA, Untitled Entertainment, and Johnson Shapiro Slewett & Kole. <\/p>\n

\n\tHeldens is the co-creator and co-showrunner of the hit ABC cop series \u201cWill Trent,\u201d which was recently renewed for a fifth season<\/a>. She is also the creator of shows like \u201cThe Big Leap,\u201d \u201cThe Passage,\u201d and \u201cMercy.\u201d Heldens previously served as a writer on shows including \u201cFriday Night Lights\u201d and \u201cThe Dropout.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tShe is repped by WME and Hansen Jacobson. <\/p>\n

\n\tWard previously worked with Heldens on \u201cMercy\u201d and \u201cThe Big Leap.\u201d He is also known for his work on the recent Fox series \u201cBest Medicine,\u201d based on the hit British series \u201cDoc Martin.\u201d Ward serves as a co-executive producer on the series. <\/p>\n
