It\u2019s been a busy couple of days for Anne Hathaway<\/a>. Flying to London for the European premiere of The Devil Wears Prada 2<\/a>, the star has gone from red carpet to radio appearance to screening\u2014hitting an after-party gala for the forthcoming sequel, the BBC Radio 2 studio for a bit of promotion, and ultimately a special screening for her other new film, Mother Mary<\/a> (which gets its wide release on April 24). Because why promote one project when you can do two?<\/p>\n

Differentiating between the two films\u2019 red carpets, Hathaway turned to something a bit darker than the \u201cRunway\u201d reds of DWP2. Working with stylist Erin Walsh, the actor selected an intricate black gown from Iris van Herpen\u2019s Spring\/Summer 2020 couture collection.<\/p>\n

Titled Sensory Seas, the line explored the work of neuroanatomist Ram\u00f3n y Cajal\u2014best known for his renowned anatomical drawings that helped bring the previously unseen inner-workings of our central nervous systems to the human eye. With this collection, the eponymous designer was particularly inspired by the way her muse merged science and art, a concept intricately linked to the world of Iris van Herpen.<\/p>\n

The specific dress pulled for Hathaway was the lineup\u2019s first look, opening the Parisian show in January 2020. The black number was crafted from laser-cut leather pieces, linking together to create a high-neck corset top. Billowing pleated sleeves blended into a long, floor-length skirt, and matching cut-out heels peeked out from underneath the hem.<\/p>\n

For jewelry, the star kept things simple with a pair of little hoops. As for her hair, it was pulled into a half up-half down ponytail.<\/p>\n

Even with such a packed schedule, Hathaway hasn\u2019t run out of ways to surprise us on the red carpet.<\/p>\n
