\n\tThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/a> won\u2019t quite be over on May 6, and Barack Obama<\/a>\u2018s presidential library won\u2019t quite be open, but the duo will be sitting down for a chat next month just before the late night host heads into the CBS<\/a> sunset. <\/p>\n

\n\tIn what will be Colbert and Obama\u2019s final midnight hour interview, the former Colbert Report frontman made the big get disclosure near the top of the Late Show tonight. <\/p>\n

\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFolks before we get started, I have a quick but exciting announcement,\u201d Colbert said from behind his desk at NYC\u2019s Ed Sullivan Theater. \u201cTuesday May 5 here on The Late Show in his first interview from the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, I will be sitting down with former President Barack Obama,\u201d he added to cheers from the hyped up crowd \u2013 take a look below<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Colbert, who inked a now last CBS<\/a> <\/a>contract in 2023 running to the end of 2026,<\/a> and the whole long running Late Night franchise were pink slipped last year <\/a>by a pre-David Ellison<\/a> Paramount regime, due to financial considerations (and if you believe that I have a planned Donald Trump<\/a> Presidential Library in Miami to sell you) the now Emmy winner has become a much valued stop on the Resistance path. <\/p>\n

\n\tHaving sat down with the 44th POTUS back three times in his Comedy Central days and in 2016 and 2020 on the CBS show, Colbert also MC\u2019d the multi-POTUS fundraiser for Joe Biden<\/a> with Obama and Bill Clinton<\/a> at Radio City Music Hall on March 28, 2024. <\/p>\n

\n\tStarting construction in 2021, the multi-purpose Barack Obama Presidential Center is set to officially open to the public on June 19 after a A-lister packed dedication ceremony the day before. The final episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/a> is set to air on May 21, 2026. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe very next day, a Friday, Comics Unleashed will be in the Late Show\u2018s spot. Byron Allen<\/a> bought the Late Show\u2019s time slot off CBS to move his\u00a0Comics Unleashed up an hour after Colbert exits.
