Liam Rosenior\u2019s training sessions \u2018were not as good\u2019 as those of his two predecessors according to a report which dives deeper into his Chelsea demise, including a \u201crespecting the ball\u201d revelation and a \u2018strange admission\u2019 in a team meeting this week.<\/p>\n

BlueCo announced the club had \u2018parted company\u2019 with the former Hull City and Strasbourg boss<\/a> on Wednesday after losing five consecutive Premier League games without scoring a goal.<\/p>\n

With Chelsea now seven points off Liverpool and Champions League qualification in fifth, and with the FA Cup semi-final with Leeds coming on Sunday, Calum McFarlane will return for a second interim stint of the season.<\/p>\n

Insiders detailed the 41-year-old\u2019s downfall in reports on Thursday<\/a>, revealing that players were making jokes about his glasses and his \u201cLinkedIn\u201d language before his criticism after the 3-0 defeat to Brighton made his position \u2018untenable\u2019 with the squad \u201cclose to mutiny\u201d.<\/p>\n

And now The Athletic have put more meat on the bones of his dismissal<\/a>, claiming that \u2018multiple sources say there were reservations from a very early stage about the way he communicated\u2019.<\/p>\n

While Rosenior was telling the truth when he revealed the players were involved in the \u201crespecting the ball\u201d nonsense which saw them huddle around the centre circle (and on one occasion Paul Tierney), the report reveals that it was collaborative decision made with player support and development officer Willie Isa.<\/p>\n

Alarm bells sounded as Chelsea\u2019s downturn under Rosenior coincided with him getting more time on the training field to get his ideas across and \u2018one source close to a senior player said training sessions were not as good as those provided by another former coach, Mauricio Pochettino, as well as Maresca\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018Players were struggling to get a grip of what he wanted or understood what he was trying to do\u2019 while another source revealed players saw him \u2018more as a motivator than a tactician or a manager\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Team spirit slump\u2019 and a \u2018vulnerable\u2019 admission<\/p>\n

\u2018The spirit in the group slumped\u2019 which was \u2018an increasing source of angst\u2019 in the dressing room, with \u2018some players overheard complaining recently that Rosenior was not giving them enough days off\u2019.<\/p>\n

There were signs of rifts appearing in the squad over these complaints as \u2018one senior player was unimpressed with what he heard and reminded them that the team was on a losing run and this was not the time to be complaining about such things\u2019.<\/p>\n

The decision was made to sack Rosenior on Wednesday morning, with interim boss Calum McFarlane looped in on a call with the club hierarchy, with the report claiming \u2018the writing was on the wall\u2019 earlier this week.<\/p>\n

\u2018Rosenior admitted to them in a team meeting earlier this week that he was feeling extremely vulnerable.
