{"id":604369,"date":"2026-04-24T21:27:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T21:27:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/604369\/"},"modified":"2026-04-24T21:27:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T21:27:09","slug":"essex-lampard-mental-health-inquiry-evidence-prompts-refocus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/604369\/","title":{"rendered":"Essex Lampard mental health inquiry evidence prompts &#8216;refocus&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A statement put out by the inquiry said: &#8220;The hearing has been refocused, principally in response to emerging evidence and areas requiring the inquiry&#8217;s urgent attention, and partly due to ongoing issues relating to EPUT&#8217;s engagement with the inquiry&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Baroness Lampard will focus on five key areas in the July hearing, including the ongoing use of the remote monitoring system called Oxevision.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Infra-red cameras installed in patients&#8217; bedrooms can track their pulse rates by detecting &#8220;micro-blushes&#8221; of the skin &#8211; invisible to the naked eye &#8211; as well as their breathing rates by watching the rise and fall of a patient&#8217;s chest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A camera can also take images and provide a clean video feed of up to 15 seconds.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Alerts and warnings are meant to be sent to staff&#8217;s computers and tablets in the case of an emergency.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The inquiry also heard the issue of resuscitation was an &#8220;emerging area of concern arising from multiple accounts&#8221;, and would hear evidence on this issue in July.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">More bereaved families would be invited to give evidence, as well as core participants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Baroness Lampard said that, subject to what she heard this summer, she would &#8220;not hesitate to make interim recommendations for change&#8221;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A statement put out by the inquiry said: &#8220;The hearing has been refocused, principally in response to emerging&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":435285,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[60],"tags":[97,259,260],"class_list":{"0":"post-604369","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mental-health","8":"tag-health","9":"tag-mental-health","10":"tag-mentalhealth"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/604369","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=604369"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/604369\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/435285"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=604369"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=604369"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=604369"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
