\n\tJust days into the filming, Helena Bonham Carter<\/a> has exited the fourth season of The White Lotus<\/a>, HBO announced Friday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWith filming just underway on season four of \u2018The White Lotus,\u2019 it had become apparent that the character which Mike White created for Helena Bonham Carter did not align once on set,\u201d\u00a0HBO said in a statement (via Variety<\/a>).\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe role has subsequently been rethought, is being rewritten and will be recast in the coming weeks. HBO, the producers and Mike White are saddened that they won\u2019t get to work with her, but remain ardent fans and very much hope to work with the legendary actress on another project soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Oscar-nominated Bonham Carter was among the second wave of cast additions<\/a> for The White Lotus Season Four, which will take place in France, including a reported storyline integrating the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in May. \u201cThe fourth season will follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week, taking place during the Cannes Film Festival,\u201d\u00a0HBO announced earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\n\tHBO did not reveal what part Bonham Carter was slated to play. The actress has not commented on her departure.
