{"id":606532,"date":"2026-04-26T00:30:09","date_gmt":"2026-04-26T00:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/606532\/"},"modified":"2026-04-26T00:30:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-26T00:30:09","slug":"over-your-dead-body-director-was-surprised-by-lonely-island-easter-egg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/606532\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Over Your Dead Body&#8217; Director Was Surprised By Lonely Island Easter Egg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWhile <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/over-your-dead-body\/\" id=\"auto-tag_over-your-dead-body\" data-tag=\"over-your-dead-body\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Over Your Dead Body<\/a> marks <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/jorma-taccone\/\" id=\"auto-tag_jorma-taccone\" data-tag=\"jorma-taccone\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jorma Taccone<\/a>\u2018s first directorial outing since <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/popstar-never-stop-never-stopping\/\" id=\"auto-tag_popstar-never-stop-never-stopping\" data-tag=\"popstar-never-stop-never-stopping\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping<\/a> (2016), he had no Lonely Island references planned for the movie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTaccone revealed that one line in Over Your Dead Body, now in theaters, which nods to the music mockumentary, came as a piece of improvisation when <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/juliette-lewis\/\" id=\"auto-tag_juliette-lewis\" data-tag=\"juliette-lewis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Juliette Lewis<\/a>\u2018 Allegra calls Dan (Jason Segel) a \u201cmotherfucking, titty-sucking, two-ball bitch,\u201d a lyric from the Popstar group Style Boyz\u2019s song \u2018Rock Roll Skate\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cAnd by the way, that was Juliette improv-ing,\u201d he told <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.slashfilm.com\/2156731\/over-your-dead-body-lovely-island-easter-egg\/\">SlashFilm<\/a>, noting he hadn\u2019t even realized it was a Popstar reference. \u201cAnd when she did that, I was like, \u2018Oh, s\u2014t!\u2019 Because everybody has their own version of that from third grade, or I do, but I was very surprised when she said it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTaccone added, \u201cI didn\u2019t realize that \u2014 I was like, \u2018I thought this was just a Northern California thing.\u2019 In normal life as an adult, you don\u2019t say that to someone. That doesn\u2019t come up as something that you say. [laughs] So yes, I was thrilled when she said it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn Over Your Dead Body, Dan (Segel) and Lisa (Samara Weaving) attempt to save their marriage with a romantic getaway to a remote cabin, where each secretly plans to kill the other.
