President Donald Trump made a major healthcare announcement from the Oval Office on Thursday, April 23. The president said the White House struck a deal with Regeneron to lower prescription drug prices. Trump was joined by several people, including HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Johnson & Johnson is the latest drugmaker to start selling some of its drugs on the TrumpRx website.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company told Reuters Friday that four of its drugs will be available on the Trump administration\u2019s site. TrumpRx doesn\u2019t sell discounted medications. It directs users to drugmakers\u2019 own direct\u2011to\u2011consumer websites.<\/p>\n

Which J&J drugs are on TrumpRx? <\/p>\n

The company said it would begin offering the following: diabetes drugs Invokamet, \u200bInvokamet XR and Invokana, as well \u200bas blood thinner Xarelto. They\u2019re also available by going directly to Johnson & Johnson\u2019s own website, JNJ Direct.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What is TrumpRx?\u00a0 <\/p>\n

TrumpRx was launched<\/a> in February. It\u2019s designed for cash\u2011paying \u200bpatients who are either uninsured or whose insurance doesn\u2019t cover a particular drug.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The government\u2011hosted site is not a place to purchase medications directly. Instead, it directs users to drugmakers\u2019 own direct\u2011to\u2011consumer websites, where they can buy medications or access pharmacy coupons.<\/p>\n

Drugmakers who list their drugs on TrumpRx have voluntarily agreed to lower their prices in exchange for being exempt from President Trump\u2019s tariffs. The administration has touted substantial discounts, though it\u2019s unclear just how much impact the changes will have for family budgets.<\/p>\n

The site includes the disclaimer that prices “may be even lower” for people with insurance, as it lists the “out-of-pocket price.” Also, some people might be able to use available generics that cost less than brand-name medications.<\/p>\n

The site debuted with more than 40 drugs, and has since grown to 80 medications.\u00a0<\/p>\n
