\n\tDuring her opening monologue on \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a> U.K.,\u201d host Nicola Coughlan<\/a> got a little assistance from \u201cSNL<\/a>\u201d legend Jimmy Fallon, who joined the \u201cBridgerton\u201d star for a chaotic studio tour and an explicit rap about her new family film \u201cThe Magic Faraway Tree.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCoughlan kicked off her monologue by poking fun at her \u201cBridgerton\u201d character, saying she \u201cplayed an aristocrat who came out as a messy bitch who lives for drama,\u201d and joking that she decided to channel the \u201cmagic\u201d of the original \u201970s \u201cSNL\u201d by consuming a \u201cstaggering amount of cocaine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s an honor to be hosting. It sort of feels like I manifested it somehow \u2014 it\u2019s almost like this place is like magic,\u201d Coughlan said as Fallon appeared. \u201cThat\u2019s because it is!\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tFallon then shared with Coughlan the \u201cbiggest secret of \u2018SNL.’\u201d \u201cWell, don\u2019t tell anyone, but it\u2019s live,\u201d Fallon said. \u201cIt\u2019s actually live. I mean, you can do whatever you want, you can go wherever you want. You\u2019re the host. They don\u2019t stop you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe two then embarked on a chaotic studio tour, taking the cameras backstage to mess with \u201cWeekend Update\u201d hosts Ania Magliano and Paddy Young as well as cast members George Fouracres and Hammed Animashaun. Fallon even dared Coughlan to ask Dave Grohl \u2014 who is serving as musical guest with his band Foo Fighters \u2014 to be her best friend. \u201cBecause we\u2019re live, he has to say yes,\u201d Fallon said.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMr. Dave Grohl, will you be my best friend?\u201d Coughlan asked, to which Grohl replied \u201cSure, why not!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAfter Coughlan\u2019s monologue, the show immediately segued into a digital short spoofing her latest film \u201cThe Magic Faraway Tree,\u201d which is based on a children\u2019s book. In the sketch, Coughlan tells studio execs that she wrote a rap song and recorded a music video to promote the movie, which as it turns out, is actually very explicit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s the faraway tree, and it\u2019s magic as fuck,\u201d Coughlan raps sporting a big jacket and braids. \u201cThick leaves, Nicky C and a magical trunk.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOther lyrics include: \u201cCritics agree, man this movie\u2019s a blast. Except for The Times, who can eat my ass!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFallon then features in the video as an on-set caterer, rapping: \u201cMy name is Keith\/ I did the on-set catering\/ For when the cast and crew\u2019s energy is wavering\/ Anything they need, you know I would get it\/ Hey look, here\u2019s my fucking name in the credits.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTo end the sketch, Coughlan reveals that she and Keith \u201cactually started dating on the movie, and let me tell you, things got pretty freaky.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tCoughlan\u2019s stint as host marks the first episode after \u201cSNL U.K.<\/a>\u201d took a mid-season hiatus.
