The yearlong relationship between Megan Thee Stallion, the Houston-raised rapper, and NBA star Klay Thompson is over.<\/p>\n
In an Instagram post Saturday afternoon, Stallion, born Megan\u00a0Jovon Ruth Pete in San Antonio, appeared to accuse Thompson of cheating on her, and being otherwise noncommittal.<\/p>\n
\u201cCheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got \u2018cold feet\u2019 Holding you down through all your horrible mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be \u2018monogamous\u2019????\u00a0b—-I need a real break after this one.. bye\u00a0yall,” the “Savage” singer wrote.<\/p>\n
Thompson, a Dallas Mavericks guard and one-time Splash Brother alongside Stephen Curry with the Golden State Warriors, hasn’t posted on his own Instagram since April 5.<\/p>\n
The Mavericks didn’t make the playoffs this year.<\/p>\n
Thompson and Pete made their debut as a couple last summer, when they appeared at a gala event in New York. In October, she released the song “Lover Girl,” which was about Thompson. The song includes a line about running to the altar.<\/p>\n
Soon after the Instagram post, Pete confirmed to TMZ, through a representative, that she had dumped Thompson.<\/p>\n
“I\u2019ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay,” the statement said. “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there\u2019s no real path forward.
