Ben Stiller<\/a>\u2019s basketball fandom on Saturday clashed with breaking news on the shooting<\/a> outside the White House Correspondents\u2019 Association dinner, leading some Republicans <\/a>to question the reason behind one of his social media posts.<\/p>\n

Stiller, known for his avid support of the New York Knicks, used his X account for several hours to<\/a> react<\/a> to<\/a> the<\/a> key plays by the team as they evened up their NBA Playoffs series<\/a> against the Atlanta Hawks in a Game 4 win on the road.<\/p>\n

The game happened to wrap up around 8:53 p.m. ET, mere minutes after The Associated Press<\/a>, Reuters<\/a> and other news-related accounts began to send out alerts on U.S. Secret Service agents removing Trump from the dinner.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s when Stiller delivered this simple three-word post<\/a> to his followers: \u201cGot it done.\u201d<\/p>\n

While New Yorkers and Stiller\u2019s followers are quite familiar with his love for the Knicks, his post caught the attention of some folks in MAGA world.<\/p>\n

\u201cGot what done?\u201d replied<\/a> Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) in a post to X.<\/p>\n

\u201cWtf?\u201d wrote<\/a> Richard Grenell, Trump\u2019s envoy for special missions.<\/p>\n

More right-wing critics weighed in, as well, with one user arguing that Stiller was trying to be \u201cclever\u201d<\/a> with his post and another calling him a \u201cpiece of shit<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Stiller, like other celebrities, has voiced his displeasure<\/a> with the White House using clips of him without his permission, his post appears to be a case of unfortunate timing.<\/p>\n

X did its part in noting this by dropping Community Notes under Mace<\/a> and Grenell\u2019s<\/a> posts.<\/p>\n

A number of basketball fans later made a mockery of the right-wing replies, including one Knicks fan account that called out \u201ccomplete idiots\u201d who didn\u2019t realize the comedian was \u201csimply celebrating a Knicks playoff win.\u201d<\/p>\n

The MAGA confusion didn\u2019t appear to faze Stiller, who dropped a salute emoji<\/a> in a post to the platform on Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

He also dropped three fire emojis<\/a> in response to a post by the Knicks\u2019 official account asking fans how they\u2019re feeling following the win.<\/p>\n
