For those not in the know, rookie minicamp is a week of practices when the team gets hands-on work with its rookie class, but it’s also the only opportunity for teams to have tryout players in for a full practice without them being members of the offseason roster.

Currently, the Packers’ roster is full, so Green Bay will need to make a corresponding roster (waiver or release) for any players added who impress at the rookie minicamp.

Jacobs began his college career at Maryland, where he served as a backup for two seasons. After that, he went the JuCo route and played at Independence Community College, best known for the school’s appearance on Netflix’s Last Chance U. From there, he earned another opportunity with UAB, where he’s played the last three seasons. Two of those years, 2023 (ACL) and 2024 (foot), ended with season-ending injuries.

In total, Jacobs took 222 carries for 930 yards and seven touchdowns in his five years of FBS football. He also caught 48 passes for 247 yards and a touchdown. He does not have experience in the return game, at least at the college level.

According to NFL Draft Scout, Jacobs ran a 4.95-second 40-yard dash at 5’11” and 228 pounds at his pro day in March. He’s ranked on the site as a fullback.

Beyond Jacobs, the Packers are bringing in another legacy for rookie minicamp. South Dakota’s Twitter page claims that quarterback Aidan Bouman, son of former Green Bay passer Todd, is coming in for a tryout. Bouman transferred to South Dakota from Iowa State, where current Packers receivers coach Noah Pauley was on the coaching staff at the time. Bouman measured in at 6’5” and 218 pounds with 10 3/8” hands at his pro day. He’s also a lefty.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that UAB running back Isaiah Jacobs, brother of Green Bay Packers running…

[63
156905,18811,18815,349,99
post-608979","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-nfl","tag-green-bay-packers-draft","tag-green-bay-packers-news","tag-green-bay-packers-roster","tag-nfl","tag-sports
["GET
