{"id":609049,"date":"2026-04-27T10:19:30","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T10:19:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/609049\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T10:19:30","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T10:19:30","slug":"when-where-you-should-look-for-mondays-atlas-v-rocket-launch-wral-com","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/609049\/","title":{"rendered":"When, where you should look for Monday&#8217;s Atlas V rocket launch? :: WRAL.com"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Several rocket launches in recent years aim to put satellites into low Earth orbit.<\/p>\n<p>One of those is the Atlas V, which is scheduled to launch <a href=\"http:\/\/ulalaunch.com\/missions\/next-launch\/atlas-v-amazon-leo-6\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Monday night, April 27, 2026. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the United Launch Alliance, the mission of the rocket is to deliver a bunch of satellites that will provide fast, reliable internet to underserved communities.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/8d7cebab-b841-4e28-948b-2cab4a050c72.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tWhen, where, how you can see this launch<\/p>\n<p>The scheduled time window for launch is between 8:52 p.m. and 9:51 p.m. Monday, which is an opportune time frame for us to see the rocket&#8217;s vapor trail.<\/p>\n<p>Local sunset is just shy of 8:00 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Raleigh.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/39a59035-6af9-4341-9f7e-b8799c0a5b8b.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This means that the sun&#8217;s light is very low on the horizon just to our west, acting like a flashlight on the rocket that flies east.<\/p>\n<p>This illuminates the vapor trail, potentially giving it the &#8220;jellyfish&#8221; appearance in our eastern sky.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/5fe86cb6-fd78-40d5-9905-98014cf253a5.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;re encouraged to look toward the eastern sky about three minutes after launch.
