In a recent interview with Page Six, Grenier had opened up about how he had wished to be a part of the sequel. However, he revealed that he was never really approached to reprise his role, despite his wishes. He stated during the interview that \u201cWe\u2019re all fans of the movie, whether or not we\u2019re in it. Obviously it was a disappointment that I didn\u2019t get the call to be in the sequel. <\/p>\n

All those memes that came out were shocking to me. It hadn\u2019t occurred to me until I started to really think about it, and perhaps it was because I was as immature as Nate was at the time, and in many ways he\u2019s very selfish and self-involved\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Director David Frankel also expressed his wish for Adrien Grenier\u2019s return and what happened<\/p>\n

While talking to Entertainment Weekly, the director of the film also shared that initially there had been a few plans about sneaking in a quick cameo with Grenier\u2019s role. However, he stated that there were a lot of time constraints and issues that led to the team dropping the idea entirely. He added, \u201cI had an idea about sneaking him into a cameo, and, in the end, it was just too late in our production schedule to make it happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

While featuring in an advertisment for a famous coffee brand, the actress wittingly addressed his role in the first film and talked about how it is time to leave the character in the past and move forward. He joked about the matter and stated during the ad that \u201cHe made a mean sandwich. He loved his girlfriend, to a point. He wasn\u2019t perfect.
