Cassie Howard\u2019s wedding dress is as outrageous as the character herself.<\/p>\n
The third episode of \u201cEuphoria\u201d Season 3 sees Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) finally marrying Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), with the bride walking down the aisle in a custom Wiederhoeft<\/a> gown with a curved corset, thigh-high slit, voluminous train, dramatic veil and plenty of sparkle.<\/p>\n \u201cIt felt like it should be really over the top and have probably one too many features \u2014 in a way that you could tell her character has such a strong grip, but also is losing her grip at the same time,\u201d designer Jackson Wiederhoeft told Page Six Style exclusively of the \u201cprincess-like dream dress,\u201d the biggest their brand has ever created.<\/p>\n Cassie Howard\u2019s bridal gown on Season 3 of \u201cEuphoria\u201d has it all \u2014\u00a0and in this case, that\u2019s not exactly a compliment. HBO<\/p>\n Jackson Wiederhoeft was behind the design, telling Page Six Style exclusively about the vision behind the \u201cmassive\u201d gown that took them more than a year to make. Fitted up top with the brand\u2019s iconic Wasp corset, the dress flows into a draped skirt hand-embroidered with glass beads. HBO<\/p>\n \u201c[Costume designer] Natasha [Newman-Thomas] and I were leaning slightly more old-school glamour,\u201d Wiederhoeft told us. \u201cWith feedback from [creator] Sam [Levinson], the volume went past ten and it was like, \u2018I want the high slit, I want the big train \u2026 this huge veil, a really low-cut neckline.\u2019\u201d HBO<\/p>\n Incorporating around 160 yards of tulle, the gown was so \u201cmassive,\u201d in fact, that Wiederhoeft worried about finding a box big enough to ship it from New York to the HBO show\u2019s set in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n The Parsons grad began working on the look with \u201cEuphoria\u201d costume designer Natasha Newman-Thomas at the end of 2023, with Wiederhoeft trying to get into Cassie\u2019s \u201cderanged mindset\u201d to understand what type of customer she might be.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was fun to imagine Cassie as a \u2018bridezilla\u2019 in this moment where she just wants, like, way too much,\u201d they said. \u201cIt\u2019s a little bit too many design elements. It just goes one step too far \u2026 But that\u2019s what was so fabulous about it for Cassie. It feels like she would be the kind of person to push a designer past [the edge].\u201d<\/p>\n Quipped Wiederhoeft, \u201cIf she was a client of mine, she would probably be trying to really design the dress herself.\u201d<\/p>\n Wiederhoeft also whipped up a short version of the style for Cassie to wear to the reception. HBO<\/p>\n Cassie\u2019s wedding was as over the top as her gown, with $50,000 worth of flowers alone. Bridesmaids wore bow-trimmed pink dresses, with groom Nate (Jacob Elordi) decked out in a classic tuxedo. HBO<\/p>\n \u201cIt was fun to imagine Cassie as a bridezilla in this moment where she just wants, like, way too much,\u201d Wiederhoeft said. HBO<\/p>\n
