DELTA COUNTY, Mich. (WLUC) – Officials with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources are seeking information about a recent series of dead eagles found in the U.P.\u2019s Garden Peninsula. <\/p>\n
Five bald eagles were found dead in a single area between April 3 and April 17, according to a Monday morning press release from the DNR. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe DNR is requesting tips from the public to help solve this ongoing investigation,\u201d said 1st Lt. Mark Zitnik, DNR Law Enforcement supervisor in Newberry. \u201cWe can confirm that the eagles did not die from natural causes, predators or vehicle collisions<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and prosecution of any individuals may be eligible for a cash reward. Those with information should contact the DNR\u2019s Report All Poaching Hotline<\/a> by calling or texting 800-292-7800. Tipsters can remain anonymous. <\/p>\n Eagles are a state and federally protected species.
