{"id":61014,"date":"2025-08-05T20:41:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-05T20:41:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/61014\/"},"modified":"2025-08-05T20:41:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T20:41:08","slug":"chelsea-management-postpone-43m-player-returning-to-pre-season-after-enquiries-from-clubs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/61014\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea management \u2018postpone\u2019 \u00a343m player returning to pre-season after enquiries from clubs"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Chelsea\u2019s first-team player is absent from training at the start of pre-season after receiving permission from the club.<\/p>\n<p>The Blues squad returned to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/club\/training-ground\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Cobham<\/a> on Monday for a short pre-season schedule.<\/p>\n<p>Enzo Maresca\u2019s side face Bayer Leverkusen (8 August) and AC Milan (10 August) in their only two friendly matches before kicking off their Premier League campaign at home to Crystal Palace (17 August).<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been a late start to pre-season because <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/news\/chelsea-bosses-have-made-one-thing-abundantly-clear-to-squad-following-club-world-cup-triumph\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chelsea won the Club World Cup<\/a> during a very busy summer, but the group have had a few weeks off to rest and recover.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2217555994-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Senior Chelsea figures pose with the Conference League trophy after the team's win against Real Betis in the final.\" class=\"wp-image-309104\" \/>Photo by Darren Walsh\/Chelsea FC via Getty ImagesChristopher Nkunku granted permission to skip training as Chelsea receive enquiries<\/p>\n<p>The future of Blues attacker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/tag\/christopher-nkunku\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Christopher Nkunku<\/a>, 27, is certainly an interesting topic for discussion in the current transfer window.<\/p>\n<p>It was recently claimed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/transfer-news\/fabrizio-romano-names-the-two-chelsea-players-expected-to-leave-after-armando-broja\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nkunku is expected to leave Chelsea <\/a>this summer, so it\u2019s intriguing to hear that he was absent from training on Monday for the first day of the club\u2019s pre-season.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6534353\/2025\/08\/05\/manchester-united-arsenal-liverpool-transfer-latest-real-madrid-window-updates\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The Athletic<\/a>, Nkunku was given permission by the Blues to miss the start of pre-season training.<\/p>\n<p>The report claims that Chelsea value the French forward at around \u20ac50m (\u00a343m), and he\u2019s been the subject of enquiries from teams in England, Italy and Germany.<\/p>\n<p>On top of that, journalist Fabrice Hawkins added via X that Nkunku and Chelsea\u2019s management agreed to \u2018postpone\u2019 his return to pre-season training, explaining that he\u2019s got a \u2018minor injury\u2019 right now.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8\ud83d\udd35 Christopher Nkunku won\u2019t be with the squad tomorrow for the training session due to minor injury. His record of 18 goals in 62 Blues appearances across all competitions is a modest tally.<\/p>\n<p>Italian giants <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/transfer-news\/why-some-figures-inside-inter-milan-are-sceptical-about-signing-christopher-nkunku-from-chelsea\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Inter Milan may be interested in signing Nkunku<\/a>, even though there\u2019s a split in opinion at the San Siro on him.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thechelseachronicle.com\/transfer-news\/man-united-make-an-enquiry-for-another-chelsea-player-its-not-nicolas-jackson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Premier League teams are keen on Nkunku<\/a> amid interest from Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.
